The route

The route has been designed to show off some of the best gravel we have around Bristol.
Over recent years the off-road cycling scene has boomed in our city, and it’s partly due to the amazing adventures we can have from our doorstep.

The Bristol Rally route will start on Friday 20th June with riders meeting in central Bristol for coffee and the rider briefing in the morning. You’ll set off towards the Mendips and ride through the renowned Cheddar Gorge, the grounds of Longleat Safari Park (keep an eye out for giraffes), skirt around the ancient Stonehenge and up onto the gravel paradise that is Salisbury Plain. There’s an awful lot more in between as well. A highlight is getting to visit Stonehenge over the Summer Solstice weekend…will you see the druids?

You’ll finish back in Bristol on Sunday 22nd June for the Finisher’s Gathering. There will be plenty of room to rest and share stories with fellow riders. You’ll even get to enjoy a refreshing drink and some food.

The riding is quintessential British ‘gravel’ making use of country lanes, bike paths, bridleways and byways. There is plenty of off-road terrain so it’s best tackled on a bike you feel comfortable riding off-road. Gravel bikes and hardtails would be best suited, but all bikes are welcome based on what you prefer.

Wondering about where to sleep? We’ll send you the route briefing at least a month in advance, that way you can check out the best camping spots, and maybe even a B&B or two! How you choose to rest your head is entirely up to you!

Riders can tackle the route how ever they like over the three days. Want to sleep in bnb’s? Fine. Prefer to cut it short one day? No problem. You do you, just make sure you come back to Bristol!
